Bad looking ubiquity

Hello all, i am Owen i am a developer for a linux operating system called the linux schools project, recently the old maintainer for the client version left therefore i stepped up to the role - My problem is that i am creating a new and more robust way to build a client and ubiquity is what we use to setup the OS when we first boot into it, we have been trying to resolve and issue for a while recently and that is that ubiquity looks awful and rather much like windows 3 and it crashes during setup, see awful look here:

I am basing this of Xenial Xerus, ubiquity works fine on the new server version, see image there:

Seems you are using Openbox or Fluxbox as window manager. There are lots of themes for this.

What makes you think weare using fluxbox or openbox, becuase i am sure we are not, if this helps if i boot live and open terminal and type sudo ubiquity it runs and looks much better?

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; ps -ef | grep -i box
