Acer aspire 6920 ubuntu 12.10

I HEARD that ubuntu on acer aspire 6920 does not go real well with sound.

While i am really interested in ubuntu 12.10 But i also want sound. again I HEARED ABOUT IT

And if i really get no sound. how can i get it then?

Also what is the easiest way to install ubuntu 64 bit.

I have win 7 64 bit.
Also will i need drivers? (note: the wifi on/off and bluetooth on/off email and browser side buttons are really important to me
As much as the side touch pad.)

Also can i only format the C:/ partition not my other partitions
Annnnd. this is my first time of seriously thinking about pressing that ubuntu download button.

1. All Ubuntu CD/DVDs can run without being installed. I recommend you create CD/DVD or USB stick and try it first without installing.

2. Wifi on/off and Bluetooth on/off keys may or may not work. The only way to find out is to test it but you can do that before you install

3. Sound: try it and see. You can test without installing

4. Quick buttons for Email and Web browser are almost certain not to work but email and web browsing is only a click of the mouse away so is this really an issue?

5. Ubuntu will happily install alongside another OS so you can Keep windows until you are happy to be without it.

To install Download the version you want. I would recommend 12.04, 12.10 is the latest version but LTS versions are better tested. Create a USB stick or CD/DVD and test before you install. Any problems you can ask before you commit.

Otherwise install either next to Windows or in place of windows.
