Partitioning drives before installing MS Server 2008

Asked by Dale Satre

I want to install MS Server 2008 on a pure-ubuntu laptop, but want to partition my drives first. Any way to do this in my situation?

Do you intend a dual boot? Surely if it is a server you'd want maximum uptime rather than booting between the OSes....

Strange setup

It's not that I want a server, it's just that i want a lefit MS OS. i have a microsoft student account, which allows me to get MS server 2008 legitimately for free, and it is essentially an operating system that can run windows programs.

Hi Dale, you might want to try virtualizing that Server 2008 on your Ubuntu. Although, of course, it will share the resources the OS is using.

Yes, I was thinking of that, thank you.
