question on booting with puppy

Asked by Jacob

I have lucid puppy linux on a 4GB PNY USB stick, which I use b/c the HDD on this computer crashed.

Ok, so when it's booting it runs through installing drivers etc, but tends to get hung up on
"searching for puppy files in computer disk drives",or something like that, which it stays on for 1-3 minutes and really adds to a boot time that would otherwise be under one minute.

Is this trying to check my dead HDD? and, if so, is there a way to turn this off so boot time can be increased?

thank you!

Puppy isn't supported here, this is Ubuntu support.

See http://www.puppylinux.com/tech.htm and http://www.puppylinux.com/forums.htm for help with Puppy Linux. As actionparsnip said, it's not supported here, so you can mark this question as Solved. (You can do that at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+question/175895.)
