Asked by TIPL

Hi Friend,

I am trying to instal ubuntu 9 on Toshiba Satellite C640 config as below
i3-2230, 4GB Ram DVD-RW TEAC, 14 inch when i boot from Ubuntu CD below Error stop the installation and quit.

ubi-timezone failed with exit code 2. Further information may be found in /var/log/syslog. Do you want to try running this step again before continuing? if you do not, your installation may fail entirely or may be broken.

I tried the installation by changing DVD but same problem..

Pleasee help me for solution what to do i need to install this on 300 no.s at some school.

Officially, 9.10 is not supported. This means mainly that you will get no update, including security updates. People doing support also start to forget issues about it. You should envisage to switch to 10.04.3 which is a LTS (Long Term Support) version, and will be supported during 3 years (instead of one year for other versions).
What are "300 no.s" ? Remember that most of people are not native English speaker.
You could check ISO and CD:
   https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

   https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/CDIntegrityCheck
Such errors were reported (Google search), but only on 9.10.

Can you help with this problem?
