Problem installing Ubuntu with Flashdrive

Asked by Stefan

I have troubles installing Ubuntu. I have the Acer Aspire TimelineX 3830TG with Win7 64bit. I downloaded the latest version of Ubuntu (11.04) and the USB Installer 1.8.6.2. to create my bootable Flashdrive.
I want to have Win7 and Ubuntu at the same time on my laptop. It Flashdrive is booting, just the installation seems broken. I get the following error message:

Is my Flashdrive broken? Or did I do something wrong? Anyone knows what this error means?

Thanks for any advice!!

This is a corrupt MBR.

Boot XP and run "fixmbr"

Win 7 has an utility "bootrec.exe"

Linux has: these 2 useful commands:

sudo apt-get install lilo
sudo lilo -M /dev/sda mbr

All of these will attempt to reinstall the master boot record.
