Making a Boot floppy for Ubuntu 10.04

Asked by Opus the Poet

I have a laptop that will only boot from floppy or the hard drive, Can a boot floppy be made? Once the box boots enough to use the PCMCIA bus I can use the CD ROM to complete loading the OS so what files would I need to put on the floppy? The box is a Sony Vaio Pentium/333 MHz that I intend to use like a netbook, so I will need to load up everything after I get the PCMCIA bus running. Right now I can't even use the wireless adaptor because the drivers for the adaptor don't go back as far as the OS installed on it.
