Ubuntu 10.10 release cycle

Asked by TopEnder

G'day and thanks in advance, Not sure if I should have posted this in the Ubuntu Forum or here. What I would like to know is when I downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 just after it's release date. If I downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 today would I get an exact copy of what I downloaded in October or would if be an updated version ie; with the latest kernel and other updated released since the release date. Hi TopEnder, the .ISO file you downloaded is the same file with what you downloaded last October. Except for Long Term Support versions like (10.04 LTS, Lucid Lynx), Ubuntu offers updated versions of downloaded after several months. I believe the latest LTS version is 10.04.2 http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/

I hope that helps.

During installation, Ubiquity (the installer) will download updates since ISO build before ending installation. You can prevent it at first page if you uncheck network option.
