  - orphan letters

As You can see here:

we've got some problem in Polish with orphan letters - single letters that are left alone at the end of the line. I don't know how i other languages but in Poland it is considered as a mistake and looks extremely unprofessional. My question is wheter I'm allowed to treat ubiquity strings as a HTML text and put " " to take the orphans to the line below or will the   letters be visible during the slideshow?
I saw we use SPAN in a strings e.g "<span foreground="#909090">Your library at your fingertips with Android, iPhone, and AirPlay
Plus the Ubuntu One Music store to grow your collection</span>"

That's the way I think using &nbsp; shouldn't be a problem. Am I right or am I wrong?

I see You either didn't understand or didn't read the description of a problem to the very end. What and whom should I report a bug? Should I report a bug to myself that I made a transaltions with orphans?

ALL I WANT TO KNOW IF AN EXAMPLE STRING:

"SUZI HAS A
CAT"

CAN BE TRANSLATED IN LAUNCHPAD AS

"SUZI HAS
A&nbsp;CAT"

AND IF SUCH A WAY OF TRANSLATING WILL NOT SPIT ME OUT "&nbsp;" VISIBLE ON THE UBIQUITY SLIDESHOW.

IN OTHER WORDS: I WANT TO USE "&nbsp;" AM I ALLOWED TO DO IT OR NOT?

I WANNA KNOW IF MY LAUNCHPAD TRANSLATION "SUZI HAS A&nbsp;CAT" WILL BE VISIBLE IN A SLIDESHOW AS

"SUZI HAS
A&nbsp;CAT

OR

"SUZI HAS
A CAT"

IS MY EXPLANATION NOW CLEAR ENOUGH?

You will probably find anyone able to answer you in Answers forum. The best ways are either to raise a bug to reach someone more specialized on Ubuntu or to contact directly people of another translation team (like French one, which also use "blanc insécable" to know if they also have the issue?

Using caps doesn't add anything to your description, it just looks like you are shouting, so DON'T

Keep it in lowercase, we can read that equally as well as uppercase.

If an application is not working as you expect then it may be a bug. A developer will examine your case and advise o will treat it as an issue and may be atttended as a bug.

Is that clear enough?

all I was trying to find out was <u>how</u> the application works and not argue about why it ain't smart enough to read in my mind. That's the difference between a bug and a question.

is this an issue you're facing yourself? or is this something that you saw on someone else's website? if it is the 2nd issue, it is RUDE in every language to criticize someone else's work. if it is the first, you might want to address this in one of the many html forums/irc channels.

i haven't written html code in 11 years, but if i remember correctly, &nbsp only works at the beginning of a line.

1.who are You writing to?
2.Jesus crist I asked a simple question and all You paid attention to was CAPS LOCK and my HTML skills. Now is a good moment to use CAPS but I won't=> if I had problems with HTML I wouldn't try to use &nbsp; would I?
second thing => check who are You writing to before treating him as a neewbie.

I closed the question, Thanks to delance I'll find help somewhere else or simply use &nbsp; for beta release and correct it in RC if there will be any problems.

The slideshow (ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu) is its own project, technically separate from Ubiquity. It builds to HTML, which is displayed in Ubiquity using Webkit. Translations can (and should) contain HTML, as appropriate. In the end, the translated strings are turned into their very own HTML files based on the originals.

I'll see about sticking that in the translator notes. Looks like I missed it.
