Drag and Drop of selected text doesn't work properly

I am not able to use drag and drop to move selected words and sentences around. When I select a word, right-click on it and want to move it it gets copied, not moved (just like it would if I'd use ctrl-click).

I don't know if this is a bug or my own ignorance, but I can't find what goes wrong. In every other text-editor (or text-area in my Firefox browser) I can move around selections just fine. Is there a solution for this problem?

I'm on Xubuntu 12.04 64 bit.

This is a known bug, I believe it is top of the list in the bug tracker.

I checked and searched all lists, but apparently not the bug-list. My bad. I'm sorry to have 'bugged' you again about it.
