xpad does not start at plasma system startup

Asked by ijann

Hello, I use the kde5 plasma system and you must in when xpad starts at the beginning and other days it does not start, I do not understand how this happens, this appears when i boot it from terminal

(xpad:4774): Gtk-WARNING **: 17:39:02.475: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:2:33: Failed to import: Error opening file/home/MYUSER/.config/gtk-3.0/window_decorations.css: The file or directory does not exist.

What I do not understand is that other days if it started and it did not appear that this file that it requests is missing, it is more I looked for it and it was not even there and still it started.

Could you build it in flatpak?

KDE Plasma: 5.20.4
Kernel: 5.10.2-2
OS: 64 bits

I believe the warning is related to your GTK3 theme used in your plasma environment. I think it is unrelated to the issue of Xpad starting up or not.

My first guess would be that Xpad starts faster than your 'tray icon area' is available.
There is workaround available in Xpad to deal with this.

[Xpad] -> [Preferences] -> [Startup] -> [Delay in seconds]

Does it help delaying the startup of Xpad with a couple of seconds?

Thanks for answering,
Yes, you're right,
was that the problem,
some occasions I connected my laptop, turned it on and then logged in, doing that did not start xpad,
now I wanted to delay the ignition,
connect my laptop - press the power button - leave it on standby with the login screen, after 40 seconds I logged in and started xpad,
it was definitely that,
now I did what you told me, change the time to 10 seconds,
I repeated the start,
connect the laptop, press the ignition and as soon as the screen appeared - login and start xpad.
Thanks, problem solved.
