Asked by kthamma

I used 1.0.5 version & replace with 1.0.7(test) client . When I register display , process not add new data to me , It 's always replace the same data. I install OS & program by norton ghost but I already changed volumeid . Restart and command dir to see volume serial number was changed already.

Result : Changed display name from "xxxxxx" to "xxxxxx". Display is active and ready to start .

From 1.0.5 the client generates its unique key once and then saves it.

You can either delete the local configuration in your image - in which case the client will behave as before - or in the client options there is now a box for the client key. You can change that string to any unique string of the same length and use that to register.

The first option is probably best long-term. I don't have a Windows box in front of me so I can't tell you exactly where the files you need to delete are, but they're somewhere in Application Data/Xibo or Local Settings/Application Data/Xibo and are called I think config. Sorry to be vague.

On the plus side it's now possible to register clients that used to fail generating a key by themselves (some Via motherboards), to copy the key from one client to another at the point of in-service replacement and also possible to run more than one client from the same display record (in the event that their schedules should always be identical).
