Xibo query remote client connection moden 3g

Asked by Ruben

Dear Friends of Xibo

I've been using your software and it works very well in local / LAN environment, and is the best so far for me

As proof operating in remote mode:
Now I've done tests posting the CMS to access from internet with open ports 8080, 4434
I have a fixed ip

The remote PC has installed the Xibo player by connecting to server: http: // 'fixed my ip releases': 8080 / Xibo
The Internet connection this pc is Moden 3G

During testing in the Xibo client connects to the server without problems until no carge nothing is online (green shading)

But when scheduling and post content (image, video) this does, (been on display in the CMS becomes yellow and then red) and remains so for a long time.

I check the pc Xibo player in the "Xibo Library" folder and there is everything carge, but on screen when running only shows the default template, and on the CMS me that screen appears offline.

But if reboot the pc of Xibo player running the programming and reaches load the content quickly.

And the CMS server I can see Online

refresh request changes in customer Xibo this in 30 seconds

Both pc Xibo player and CMS are no firewall or antivirus.

Why will this happen?

What is the correct configuration, which ports are the ones who have to aperturar apart from 8080

I would appreciate your help very much,

For the rest grateful to the development community who work hard on improving this software every day to this very interesting software.

Best Regards

Yours Truly

You will need to open the client information screen on the player by pressing the "i" key on the keyboard. This will show you why the client is not displaying the layout - the most likely reason is that it has not finished downloading the Media you have scheduled to it.

It will show you the percentage downloaded and any error messages related to the download.

Dear,

Sorry for delay in respond, I followed your instructions and indeed the 3G connection the connection is lost and fails to update,

I configured the client sofwarer Xibo the refresh time to 60 and this better, but sometimes it is the same, drops the connection and transfer the programmed contents is cut.

Thank you very much for your help,

Anyway
What are the ports i need aperturar only 8080?

Best Regards.

Only the port that your web server is listening on is required - there are no other special ports.

Each time a file download fails, Xibo will attempt to resume it and get to the end - by the end the player will checksum the file to make sure it is the same as the one on the CMS. Due to your intermittent connection this might take some time and unfortunately I don't think there is anything that can be done about that.

In 1.7 there is a new feature to download the files entirely over HTTP as a single request - this might help in your case and you'd be welcome to test the beta release.
