I have some text translated into German. How do I get the new translation file in German, to see how it fits in the context.

All the translations are done in Launchpad.

The translations are generally at https://translations.launchpad.net/xibo and the German translation is specifically at https://translations.launchpad.net/xibo/1.2/+pots/default/de/+translate

If you're running 1.2.0-rc1 or 1.1.1 then you can download updated translations for a particular language by going to that translations page (see link above) and clicking "Download translation". You need the file in mo format. Launchpad will then process your request and email you a link when the file is ready to download.

Once you have the file, you'll need to rename it appropriately (in this case the file should be called de.mo) and replace the existing translation file with the new version in the locale folder.
