PowerPoint continually crashing

We keep encountering problems where PowerPoint crashes and displays error report messages on all out client PCs. I followed the steps to disable error reporting, but they still show up. It is seemingly random when they stop working and on which PowerPoint caused it.
The client machines are running on XP and 7, with Office 2007 and 2010 respectivly.

why dont you try using open office instead it is better than MSoffice and is free http://www.openoffice.org/

All the knowledge we have for disabling error reporting is in the wiki article.

I don't have access to Office 2007 or 2010 to test with so I'm afraid you'll need to start googling on supressing those error reports yourself.

If you do get a solution, please update the wiki with what you find out but leave the office 2003 instructions in place as they definitely work.

That won't work. Openoffice doesn't offer us a method to embed a running presentation inside a .net application or inside Internet Explorer. It also does a poor job of converting presentations written in Office.

Trust us - we have looked in to this in alot of detail. Oh, and converting to flash is a non-starter too.

Thanks for the helpful advice Alex. As I say, it is seemingly random when it crashes. We've had 4 displays running with no problems over last friday and this weekend. I'll look further into disabling any error messages.

start > run > gpedit.msc > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Systems > Internet Communication Management > Internet Communication Settings > Turn Off Windows Error Reporting > Enable

Has the new client 1.2 some other methods to launch presentations, than the older 1.07 client that we are using now?
the solution above has made an even worser result... it still puts the error message up, but after pressing enter, no presentations are showing anymore (nothing from the schuedule/layouts). it just makes a black screen.
