Difficulty importing from Bank CSV Download

Asked by ricgal

I can download a csv file from my online banking, but the dates are in the format 1012010 for January 1 2010 and 14012010 for January 14, 2010

I want to import the data into wxBanker.

I don't know how to convert this. I do have the use of OOo Calc.

Thanks,

Rick

PS: I read the name of the program as weatherBanker, where wx=weather ;)

Hi Rick! In the import CSV dialog, you can type anything you want in the "Date format" box, but I don't see a format that would match that. Using "%d%m%Y" would work, except that your CSV isn't zero-padding the day in the case of your January first example, which seems like a confusing scheme as it requires reading it backwards.

The only solution that I could see is prepending a "0" to any date field which has 7 instead of 8 characters, and then the "%d%m%Y" format should work if you type that in.

Let me know if that makes sense!

Can you help with this problem?
