Is it for Windows ME too?

Asked by garywaterbury

I installed and ran Wubi. The reboot didn't do anything. I burned the downloaded .iso file to a cd disk and it checked out ok. I installed the cd, by partitioning my c: drive. I tried installing the grub bootloader, but it messed up my disk. I finally fixed my mbr and reinstalled Windows ME. So I need to know if Wubi works for a Fat32 drive on Windows ME. or if it's just for XP. I made an emergency disk to boot into DOS on my computer. Can I do the same to boot into UBUNTU on an ext3 partition? Are there any tools to use for checking my ext3 partition like the windows SCANDISK or SCANREG?

Windows Millenium has a unique boot mechanism which is not accessible with Wubi.
Wubi can not make changes into it, so it can not break it, but it can not use it either.
Wubi works with windows 98SE, 2000, XP, and 2003.
We will detect and prevent installation on windows millenium in next releases.

If you want to try ubuntu, you can perfectly use the CD you burned and carefully follow each step.
If it does not work, you can try the live cd (Desktop edition)
