"Operating System not Found"

Asked by Tidoo2001

I installed XUBUNTU four days ago. Finally connected to the internet last night and when I rebooted this morning my screen reads:
"Operating System no found." I really dio not want to reinstall XUBUNTU. I already checked start up and it looks for my HD first as it should. This is a very simple and old DELL Inspiron 3500 with a 20GB HD and19M of RAM. It's been stable for 4 days and nw this. Any thoughts or ideas out there are greatly appreciated.

Try to run chkdsk /r from within disk on the partition where you installed Wubi.

In hind sight I should have started a new post... My hard drive is not partitioned it is running XUBUNTU by itself. I am now able to start the laptop as long as I have the Install disk in the drive. I am trying to use the install disk to troubleshoot this problem. This all started after my first successful attempt to connect to the internet. This is all easily solved I'm sure. Being a noob I'm totally lost but tenacious!!!
