installing 11.10 within windows

hi, got ubuntu 11.10 DVD from chip December issue, getting no option like install within windows (wubi.exe not giving me this option), any idea how to install within within Win 7 just like an application / as i am used to with ubuntu 10.10

you can download the wubi install from here http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/windows-installer

then follow this guide to install.

this doc, https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wubi .. shows that the wubi installer is compatible with windows 7 so you should have no issues.

i cant find any online articles about the magazine chip you referenced regarding the dvd of ubuntu you have, but im willing to bet that the dvd you have from that magazine is a ISO image that you need to boot from in order to install. THis is a difference process. if you want to install from within windows, follow the above links and do not use that dvd/cd.

If you have the Ubuntu DVD, then you cannot install it with Wubi. Wubi only works on the desktop CD ISO. Refer to the Wubi Guide for more info: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide
