I can't boot into ubuntu 11.04 after power outage but windows still works
I have a WUBI install of Ubuntu 11.04 (upgraded from 10.10) and was running Ubuntu when my power suddenly surged and went out before I could shut the computer down cleanly. Since then, I can boot into Windows and it runs like normal, but when I try to boot into Ubuntu, I get an error message on the screen that says: Try (hd 0,0): NTFS 5: error "prefix" is not set. After I wait a while, then I get a screen that says the following:
GNU GRUB version 1.99 rc1-13
minimal BASH-like editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions
grub>_
I hit TAB, and then entered BOOT and it told me there was no kernel loaded. Does this mean my entire Linux kernel is missing? Is there any way I can correct this problem without re-installing the OS?
