After automatic upgrade Ubuntu will not start
I have a dual boot Windows Vista and Ubuntu (I started with 9 but have been doing automatic upgrades and was at 10 something but can't look at the exact numbers now...) I think I used Wubi because I installed Ubuntu from XP.
After doing the automatic upgrades the other day it said it had a problem with Chrome during the installation but continued until it got to the point where it asks you to restart. If it means the google browser than I never had that installed on my Ubuntu side.
When I turn on my computer it gives me the options of choosing Windows or Ubuntu, however when I choose the Ubuntu option it immediately restarts the computer (shows the toshiba screen...) and brings me back to the options of Ubuntu or Windows.
How can I fix this? And how can I get to my Ubuntu files from the Windows side so that I can back them up? I am not an advanced computer user when it comes to operating systems but I can follow directions pretty well. =) I do not mind doing a clean install if I have to but would at least like to save my open office documents. =(
