With wicd local network names resolves only with .local suffix.

Asked by Anton Karmanov

I am using Xubuntu 17.04. When I used a network-manager everything was risht with resolving. But now when I removed the network-manager and installed the WICD local names does not resolved properly. E. g. I have a host named orangepi in my local area. I can not get access to it right by name, but I can interact with it by name "orangepi.local".

My config files are almost default. /etc/nsswitch.conf have the next line:

hosts: files mdns4_minimal resolve [!UNAVAIL=return] dns

On my work PC some time ago I used wired connection and had the same issue, but it's gone when I change this string to:

hosts: files dns

At home I use only wireless connection, and config change does nothing.

I'm not shure that it's a bug, so maybe I should try something in my /etc, do I?

Ok, now I know than trouble is with systemd-resolved, so it's not relate to wicd.
