Why gray out wired connection during network scan?

Asked by David Niergarth

When you start up the wicd-client, this list of available networks is grayed out for a good 5-6 seconds. Presumably, wicd is scanning for wireless networks? In any case, most of the time I'm connecting to wired networks. Is there any reason for the wired network to be grayed out during the wireless scan? Even if all I want to do is open wicd-client to disconnect from the wired network, I still have to wait for the wireless scan to finish. Should I make this a feature request or am I missing something?
