wicd

wicd hangs on validating authentication

 I get this problem on some wifi networks, seems to be when they use WEP.. I am using version 1.7.2.3 Ubuntu 12.04.

Not a wicd bug, likely to be a wpa_supplicant one.

Hi!

Thanks for that tip. In fact, I believe that it may be the time out issue as well as the version of WEP being used by the router and wicd not being the same. Anyway, I was forced to access via Windows which seems to have no issues with WEP, WPA, etc. Then changed to WPA2 and it works now.

Thanks for your help - I really always try to use Linux for everything, but sometimes Windows comes in handy, alas. This saddens me to no end.
