Has development of weather indicator stopped?

There does not seem to be any bug fixes in a long time for weather indicator. Has development of weather indicator stopped? It does not stay running for very long before it crashes. Is it worth keeping it installed; or should I expect no more updates and uninstall it. Is there any alternatives with similar functionality?

Yes, I don't have both time and desire to update Weather Indicator, so I'll give the admin rights for any skilled maintainer
