Will there be a snap package?

Asked by Aminda Suomalainen

It seems variety is in the repositories of 16.04, but snap package would possibly be faster to keep up-to-date and be more likely to work in future versions without changes as I have understood that snap packages also ship their depedencies.

I haven't really read much on the Snappy format, but I doubt I'll invest time into changing the packaging infrastructure any time soon - it works now, and Snappy seems to be too much Ubuntu-specific at the moment, and also too young and unproven. Launchpad has good support for automatically building and publishing debs into PPAs, it needs to be at least as easy to consider switching to Snappy.

Hello, I am using Variety on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.(wich will use snap packages). It works like a charm. I have installed it using the instructions from this page http://peterlevi.com/variety/

Can you help with this problem?
