How can i make fn+F7 (hotkey) work with unity?

Hello,

im working on ubuntu oneiric on an eeepc R011 with unity 4.30.0-0ubuntu1.

In the last days I updated from maverick to oneiric. In maverick (without unity) the hotkeys work out of the box. Unfortunately, in oneiric the display off key does not work. I already tried kernel parameter acpi-osi=Linux with update-grub but this does not work either.

ATM when hitting the key dmesg output is
keyboard: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 244

During my google search I found different approaches.
a) patch the kernel (i.e. eeepc-wmi etc.) (which I could not complete due to cimpilation errors)
b) fire a bug against the window-manager.

So now I am here. What do you suggest?
