Unity customisation tool installed by default?

Asked by Matt Richardson

Are there currently any plans to include a customisation tool for Unity by default?
At the moment users have to download CCSM before they can customise even simple things like the size of the launcher.
Perhaps even just a version of CCSM which only includes the options for the Unity plugin?

Probably not, though I think it still makes sense
While the use of ccsm itself isn't that difficult the behavior of compiz while one is in ccsm can trip up many

Seems like there are no plans especially with the "zero-config" idea mentioned in the other opinion you linked. It's not the use of CCSM that I think would trip up users, but their inability to find the options when they first install. Of course one of the great things about Ubuntu is that the huge community support means it's very quick to find out about CCSM and, as you rightly say, once they have it, it's not hard to use.

Thanks for your response
