Where is it?

Asked by Bob English

I installed Unity tweak tool, but it did not create a launcher in my main menu. I install gui based tools because I am not so good with the terminal, and finding a program to which you do not know the applications name (in /usr/share/applications) in any case is difficult. And If you are making GUI front ends, then You must obviously see the need for it, and therefore should also see the need for a launcher!!!

I figured out how to make a launcher, but where do I piont it to??

Thanks for your help

There's been a bug going around unity lately where it doesn't find new launchers for a little bit. Unity Tweak Tool does create one. Try rebooting, Unity should find it then.

I found it eventually but it would not start, because of other dependencies. Seems that I have the xfce desktop, and it would not work with it. There are parts of unity on my system, but it is confusing since I have Compiz, Gnome, gtk, kde and other desktop stuff, so it is hard to tell what kind of hybridized Frankenstein (Wily Warewolf) I am running!

Thanks though.
