bootable USB thumbdrive not bootable

Asked by James L Szatkowski

I downloaded and installed UNetbotin and downloaded the Bodhi live iso. I ran it on three different USB drives; a 1/2Gb, a 4Gb and an 8Gb. The only one that works is the 1/2Gb. The other two won't boot. I've rebuilt them several times - no difference. I'm missing something obvious, I'm afraid. Please help this newbie. Thanks, Jim

I just checked one of the USB Thumbdrives that does not boot with diskpart.

It does not show as a drive, but it does show as a volume! Can I make that volume active or ??

Could you reduce partition size to 512MB on 4GB thumb drive, to check if it is linked to available size.

I couldn't get it down to 512 MB but did get it down under 1 GB. Still no
joy.

You succeeded using a 512MB, what is the problem in making a 512MB in a 1GB thumb drive?

Can you help with this problem?
