UNetbootin

UNetbootin crashes without giving reason

I have created a 1.5GB iso file using multicd-5.2 and I am trying to use UNetbootin to write it to a 2GB USB key. I have formatted the USB key (/dev/sde1) as vfat and reinserted it so my Ubuntu 9.04 system mounts it at /media/disk. I then use the UNetbootin Diskimage option to write to my USB key. It starts ok and shows 0% at step 2 i.e. "Extracting bootloader configuration" but seams to get stuck there at 0% for a few minutes and then the UNetbootin window just closes without warning. Is there a log or something I can check? I can open the iso file fine with an archive manager. I notice there is a large number of cfg file left in my /tmp directory. What can I do to resolve this.

There's probably a circular inclusion among the various .cfg files, causing it to get stuck in an infinite loop and finally crashing once it runs out of memory (I don't have any checks for this kind of scenario at the moment, apparently I should). Mind attaching the syslinux, isolinux, or whatever directory contains all the .cfg files from your iso so I can debug this?

Ok, I have extracted the iso and copied all the files that were both small and may be of interest. I have tar'd them up, in their original directories, to 280KB file. It is not clear to me how to 'attach' files here so for now you can grab the file from http://www.annett.co.nz/multicdfiles.tar.gz . Let me know if there is further information you need.
