issue using on BQ Aquarius 5.5 screen saver

Asked by Clive

Hello

Background - new user to linux/ubuntu (only have phone - bq Aqarious 5.5, which have only used in a minimal way so far, no desktop experience).

Used gps-navigation for first time the other day. Worked OK except for the fact that the screen saver would constantly kick in. This is actually dangerous when you are driving ;)

Have searched the net for solutions and get the following options:-

1) Go into Brightness settings and change options. However Brightness settings on BQ Aquarious does not seem to contain the options shown in screen shots for disabling the screen saver.

2) Enter various commands which I do not understand yet and may permenantly disable the screen saver (not good on a mobile phones battery life).

Is it possible to create an update that temporaily disables the screen saver when the gps-navigation application is running.

N.B. I am used to sygic on android and this is how this behaves.

In the above situation pressing the screen to get it back, brings up other app functionality for changing destinations, which makes the situation even worse. Sygic had a separate driving and navigation mode, which solved this issue (then again Android has menu buttons).

Also I have to agree with other peopels comments, voice is not very good and probably needs replacing with a more human voice.

Other than that the application appears to be good and does its job (although have only used on one trip so far, but it got me to within a 100 yardsd of the car park ;)

Thank you

Clive Middleton

Hi. Could you update the phone to OTA5 and uNAV 0.22 and try it again? :)
it was fixed 3 weeks ago.
Thanks for your feedback!
