configure /etc/network/interfaces for livesystem
Hi,
how can I set up a network configuration in /etc/network/
As I seet it, the interfaces is generated dynamically, because the settings I enter in the root-shell of UCK aren't there in the livesystem.
Is it possible to change something (maybe in an install skript) to use my own interfaces file?
I really need this, because I'm compiling a cd with wireless drivers included an it will be used on different computers with different numbers of network adapters. Until now I modified the rc.local to call a script, which connects eth1 to my wireless network, but on other computers eth1 is the second LAN card or another wireless device. So, the easiest way to handle this would be with entries in the /etc/network/
One thing I have to add: This CD should be usable for noobs, I'm none, but others, who will use it, are and they're not able to enter the essid and parameters for our environment. This is why I wanted it to be declared in interfaces.
I had to uninstall the Gnome Network Manager, because (sorry for that :) this is a piece of crap, it crashes my system completely when loading the wireless drivers.
So, please, how can I create my own interfaces file for the livesystem?
Thanks,
Martin. :)
