UCK on other platforms

Asked by mbarriault

Are there any first or third Ubuntu Customization Kit ports for other platforms (in particular Mac OS X)? I currently don't have a full (or even part time) Linux machine, however it would be useful to make a custom LiveCD for use when I have to use another computer.

I don't think so and we don't have resources to make such port. UCK depends on some Linux kernel features (loop mounting, SquashFS), so porting it would be hard and not of much use. You can always install some distro on your machine.

You could also install ubuntu e.g. in virtualbox. So you can remaster a liveCD in your virtual environment.

Can you help with this problem?
