Too many conflicts

Asked by deleted

I experience quite a bit of conflicts with Ubuntu One Client. One day I downloaded files directly to my Ubuntu One directory, and next day every one of them had u1conflict file, which actually were the correct ones - all original files being 0 bytes in size. This happens on regular copy-pasting too. Handling files like this is not handy. I experience much more problems (almost every time) than successful ones.

Is there any way to avoid conflicts?

I'm unable to give the details since apport-collect doesn't work (after once removing permissions via launchpad)...

Anyway, there should be some kind of progress meter since this may be partly due to very slow sync progress of ubuntuone-client. If the program just could just give any indication how long the sync is going to take and which files it is still processing, it might help to not prematurely remove u1conflict-files from other computer, since that seems to cause problems in other computer in turn...

One more note: the cloud icon doesn't suffice as indication since sometimes those pop hours after files has changed. Overall, client's progress is obscure, you don't know what is it doing and when.

Furthermore, the cloud icons in files and the information from notification area are not synched. There is cloud icons in file listings while notification area says "Your files are up to date".
