hardlinks sync initially, but do not stay synced

I know U1 currently ignores symlinks. So I used a hardlink in ~/Ubuntu One for an .ods file, and it synced-up initially OK. Subsequent modifications to that file did not sync. File modified time had changed on the hardlink as expected, but no sync occurred. Thinking that triggering a sync operation might sync-up everything new, I added an image file to ~/Ubuntu One. The image file was synced as expected, but the hardlink was not synced.

Disconnecting the client, and reconnecting also did not inspire it to sync the .ods (hardlinked) file.

I guess I am expecting that whenever the file is saved, it should be synced. And I am expecting it not to matter that it is a hardlink.

Hi! Ubuntu One does not support hard links. You may find it works sometimes but it's not officially supported. You may be interested in the new feature in Lucid, which allows you to choose which folders you want to synchronize outside of the ~/Ubuntu One folder. Thank you, Joshua

can someone please explain how to synchronize folders out of the "ubuntu one" folder or a link that would show a how to? pretty sure people who would read this would want to know to.

in Lucid, right click on any folder in your home, and select
"Synchronize on Ubuntu One".
