how can i restore my ubuntu

i'm new to ubuntu and i don't understand there was an update and now my flash player doesn't work i've updating but it won't allow me so i want to restore it and don't know how to do that either

would you please run in the terminal:
-sudo apt-get update ===>enter(key)===>password
-sudo apt-get upgrade===>enter(key)===>password
