window xp home fail to boot

You will have better luck asking at a Windows forum or contacting Microsoft; this is strictly a Windows problem, it was just caused by the installation of Ubuntu.

STOP 0x24 = Windows has issues with Ntfs.sys. See KB228888 for more: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/228888. This is caused by a damaged filesystem, a damaged hard disk, or corrupted drivers.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but again it is strictly a Windows problem.

This is a common problem with MS Windows ... easy corruption of file system, 80% of the times caused by files created by ms apps !

It's to late to warn you but ... Before doing any operation related to partitioning If you have "windows msn 8 up" or "windows live" installed your should backup your files in the friends folders, force erase all junk there. If there are the "illegal" and non-complaint files with the Microsoft NTFS created by the Microsoft MSN spy ... sorry ... IM system use freeware apps to forcefully remove those files. Some only can get erased by exiting the system and rebooting with other FULLY NTFS COMPATIBLE live boot system (check the web for boot image cd's with tools)

Also you can try the chkdsk c: /f in the terminal when booting from you ms win xp cd, but if it is the case of the MSN (cof) .. screw up ...(cof) forget it cause it will do worse !

If you are a lucky guy your last good configuration still works, try it ! if not ... better format and reinstall as you have the crapy home edition ! And next time remember to do a disk and registry defrag once a week !

Use a freeware app ERUNT to backup your configuration files !(xp 32 only) This way you always have a working registry backup from several last boots.

Better yet get a virtual machine system and run windows in a box. Install everything then make a backup copy of the FILE that has the system and you always have a working xp !

i already copy all my file using ubuntu to my external HDD..the problem is i can't reboot/reformat my win xp..FYI, i didn't have any backup..

can anybody help me?how to reformat my netbook?
