sudo pass word not entering

Binary package hint: sudo

i tryed to enter my admin pass when using a sudo command in terminal and when i type in my pass nothing happens it dosent take it dosent even come up with the stars its like my entre keyboard except the enter key is frozen. my ubuntu version is 9.10

it still doesent work because when i type it in and hit enter it doesent take it

Asuming user is in admin group.
