In Ubuntu 12.04 can I not access latest Firefox update?

Asked by Marlene Kennedy

Trying to play PRIME video, says Firefox not in latest update. I thought Firefox automatically updated all the time as my browser? I'm holding at UBUNTU 12.04 without having to do a complete dump & update to 14.... whatever.

No updates available.
Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) reaches End of Life on April 28 2017
You can Upgrade to a newer version. I suggest a new install.
The desktop will be different than the version you are accustom to. May I suggest Xubuntu or Lubuntu that has the simular
style of desktop. https://lubuntu.net/ or https://xubuntu.org/download/

This Firefox comes in a Tar ball that you will have to install.
Ubuntu 12.04 has no more security updates.

Somehow in trying to update Firefox, I lost my VIEW TOOL BAR to SELECT & clear HISTORY on a regular basis to keep it clean.
Seeing as I am operating such an old version, it works best when I 'keep it clean'.

I've also lost ability to keep multiple 'windows' open.
(e.g. I just clicked on a youtube in an email... and couldn't arrow back... had to re-enter yahoo.).

I suspect that was also something connected to settings in firefox after my attempt to update.
I have an old FIREFOX DATA folder now sitting on my desktop, after my attempt to UPDATE Firefox.

that's where I got the idea: it might be under: VIEW main toolbar to see HISTORY tab again.
