Songs?

If you mean music in general just use a media player. MP3s are covered by installing: ubuntu-restricted-extras

Movies?

If you mean commercial, encrypted DVDs then you need the package: libdvdcss2. This is available from the Medibuntu repository. Look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu and page down to "Playing Encrypted DVDs"

Programing languages?

This depends on WHAT programming languages you want. Full Circle Magazine ( a free pdf download) has run articles on C - begin here: http://fullcirclemagazine.org/2008/09/26/issue-17-out-now/ and articles on Python - the current edition is covering Part 7

You're probably looking for VLC, a free media player that can play everything. Programming can be done directly from GEdit, Ubuntu text editor.

Can you help with this problem?
