issue with 1st ever boot after install of 9.10
This is my first time with Ubuntu. After successfully running/playing with live CD of Ubuntu 9.10, I installed Ubuntu 9.10 on a blank pc (no os). But it failed to boot ever. I was stuck at boot screen with tty1 prompt where it prompts me for login name and password. The problem was that the screen was flashing and when I typed the login name and the screen didn't seem to record what I typed or skipped the characters I typed. So I can't get thru the login stage in tty1 mode. What can you do when you stuck in this flashing tty1 mode?
I already reinstalled it twice and the problem didn't go away. Video card is NVidia type. I have no problem of running live CD. Why should I have the problem with the installed one? I vaguely remember when I was playing live CD, it prompted me to upgrade to the NVidia's native graphics accelerated driver and I did. But that's the live CD mode and it shouldn't be remembering what I did with live CD prior to installation of Ubuntu 9.10 to hard drive, right?
Very frustrating experience with the problem like this. Please help!
Thanks!
