NVIDIA graphics driver problem

Asked by KRANTHI BOPPANA

Hi,

I'm getting an error stating that "Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode" when I enter username and password after the my pc is turned on. When I change my "visual settings", its prompting with a dialog box containing "Desktop effects could not be enabled". and

An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for gnome-appearance-properties. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly.

So , I tried to change my Hardware properties from system menu-->Administration --> Hardware testing.
from that I was prompted with another dialog showing four kinds of nvidia drivers[recommended] and I selected the recommended one and clicked on "Activate" but I didnt get any response.

Please provide me a solution for this problem.

Thank you in advance..

"system menu-->Administration --> Hardware testing." You mean: Hardware drivers? Are there four Nvidia drivers recommended?
