When booting up, display goes out, no signal

Alrighty, I'm a first time linux user. When I start up my comp, it takes me to the screen asking me to choose Windows 7 or Ubuntu. I choose Ubuntu, the screen goes purple for a bit, then my monitor looses signal. I hear the start up sound, but still no signal to my monitor. Windows 7 is working fine when I boot up that OS.

Here are the stats-

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor 3.2 GHz
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
WDC ATA Drive
ASUS monitor

Ubuntu 12.10, used the Windows Installer
Windows 7 Profesional Service Pack 1, fully updated

I looked at this-

But all the solutions seem to be when installing Ubuntu. I used the Windows installer, so this isn't an option. Unless I need to delete it and re-install using a disk.

Well ,
the WUBI installer (from within Windows) is a virtual installation of Ubuntu.

Try something else .. create a bootable CD/DVD/USB of Ubuntu (with the .iso you downloaded) , you can do that from within Windows . For usb bootable , check this program => http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Then boot from this USB and see if Ubuntu works . (choose the first option "Default") . This is for test Ubuntu at live session. If works there , then something went wrong during this wubi installation.
I suggest to install Ubuntu alongside Windows (not inside Windows).

Alright, I figured out it won't use the second monitor output, but works fine with the first.
