White/gray screen after installing Ubuntu

I get this white/gray screen when trying to install Ubuntu or any other linux os. I'm using a dell laptop (XPS M1730). Graphic card is GeForce 8800M GTX with newest driver. Does anyone else experience this problem? and is it possible to fix it?

Try the boot option:

nouveau.blacklist=1
