Nvidia Graphic driver won't install

I've always used the driver from the nvidia-vdpau ppa personally

https://launchpad.net/~nvidia-vdpau/+archive/ppa

But it may be a case of !wfm

;)

I've installed vdpau from that ppa, but still it won't work...

here's what i got :

 dpkg --get-selections | grep libvdpau*
libvdpau-dev install
libvdpau-doc install
libvdpau1 install

and then the jockey log, after it said that it went through an error :

Try installing the driver manually using the following instructions:
