Ubuntu 11.04 Dell 1525 keyboard not working after upgrade from 10.10

I upgrade my 10.10 to 11.04 using the iso and the online servers. I am using a Dell Inspiron 1525. After upgrade completes I autologin to the new desktop but then cannot move the mouse using the trackpad. The keyboard does not appear to do anything either. So I reinstalled 10.10 and write from that environment.

Any suggestions?

Hi.

I have the same computer with a French keyboard. Everything worked fine for me when upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04 (from servers only) . Maybe check your keyboard / mouse parameters (layers, xorg.conf maybe).

Did your keyboard and mouse work properly on ubuntu 11.04 live DVD ? Perhaps you can pass the upgrade operation by installing 11.04 directly from a DVD or a USB ?
