The Logitech SetPoint Software is only available for windows.
Maybe you want to try HIDPoint (http://www.hidpoint.com) to configure your Mouse on Linux. I haven't tried it, but the Logitech G5 is supported by it and it should be quite similar to setpoint on windows.
Please note that HIDPoint does not yet work on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, but it does work on former versions of Ubuntu.
If this does not work for you, i can tell you how to configure the hotkeys manually, but it might be a bit difficult (using xbindkeys and xautomation).

Can you help with this problem?
