TouchScreen inconsistently working on Lenovo P400 Touch

Asked by Jared Wisham

The behavior (active/inactive) and consistency of my touchscreen working is extremely difficult to pinpoint.

So far ( http://askubuntu.com/questions/291571/touchscreen-recognized-but-not-working-in-13-04 ) myself and another user appear to have closed in on the possibility of sleep/hibernate being involved with the inconsistent behavior, but it's not always the case, and doesn't appear to be related to the amount of the time that the system is left in a suspended state.

Does anyone else have any experience with this particular model of touchscreen device/driver (Synaptics Large Touch Screen, as a Virtual Core pointer)? When it's not working, it isn't missing from the list of xinput devices, nor are the states 'different' as such from when it was working.

Cold boots are completely unreliable. I'd estimate that it works from a cold boot, maybe 10-15% of the time, tops.

What can you all recommend I look for when its down, and what do you think might help to make it more reliably function?

Thanks!

I've found discovered that coming up from a cold-boot, my touchscreen device doesn't work at all... immediately going into "Suspend," and then reawakening (without much of a delay - maybe 1/2 seconds tops) brings the touchscreen to life.

Hmm..
