I need instructions on how to install, patch and compile the latest version of xserver-xorg-input-evdev

Asked by Stanley Bray

The tar file for the Ubuntu 11.10 version of xserver-xorg-input-evdev extracts to an xf86-input-evdev-2.6.0 directory, but the diff file is for files in the xserver-xorg-input-evdev-2.6.0.orig directory. Should the extracted directory be renamed before patching?

I need the .dsc file. With that, I could update according to the instructions in the .diff file.

You could try the xorg edgers ppa, it may have it. It is very experimetal and unstable but may give what you need
